"To
evangelise, disciple and equip young people, releasing them to live
for Jesus, advancing Gods Kingdom wherever he calls them to.
To envision young people to serve the church and use their gifts to
Gods glory".
The motivation for the series of events that n:flame has been involved
in springs largely from a dream that one of the current team experienced
following some time in prayer for North London.
"In the dream I stood in a large room. The floor of the room
was covered thickly with matches. There was no particular order to
them, but rather they just lay as if they had fallen that way. Next
to me stood another man. I asked him "what are these". His
reply was simple. "These are the young people of North London".
"What should I do" I asked, aware that I should at least
do something. He turned toward me and said "tell them to stand".
Talking to a room full of matches I spoke loudly "Stand Up!"
Immediately, to my surprise, a few of them stood up with their heads
facing upward. They stood together in small clumps and the man next
to me took a matchbox and struck it across the heads of those who
stood. Suddenly the room had small clusters of burning matches which
did not burn out. To say I was excited was an understatement but the
man turned to me again in response to my excitement with the command.
"Tell them to stand again." Again I spoke to the matches
"Stand Up!" Around those already standing, other matches
began to also stand up, and as they did so the fire spread quickly
from those who were already alight. The man turned to me again and
said. "I want you to continue telling them to stand until the
whole room is in flames". This I did until finally I awoke"

At N:Flame we are not just committed
to doing evangelism, but training and releasing young people to do
it too. We believe strongly that young people will be far more effective
at reaching their friends for Christ that we will be. Everything we
do is geared towards training and discipling young people to go back
into the harvest fields of their schools and communities sharing the
good news with those they are with. This is not a new vision but a
very old one. Jesus did not reach the world with his preaching directly,
but rather entrusted it to a few friends. Filled with the Holy Spirit
they had transformed the Mediterranean Basin in a few decades with
their message and the signs that followed. We are convinced that the
same thing needs to happen today. Young people, filled with the Holy
Spirit, compelled by burning hearts to share the gospel with their
friends and colleagues. Serving their local churches with a passion
and conviction that God is still able to save the lost.
